The Apollo Cinema hosts a screening of Recollections & Imaginings, a collection of stories about the Charles Street Bus Terminal and the need for more community gathering space in Downtown Kitchener. This is a community project lead by O:se Kenhionhata:tie also known as Land Back Camp. The screening is followed by a screening of Wildhood. Tuesday, August 9 at 6:45 p.m.

Over at TWB Brewing Co-op, Pinch Cabaret Presents: Together We're Boisterous Comedy Show, featuring standup, musical comedy, and improv. Wednesday, August 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Nothing sounds quite like an 808. Across town at the Kitchener Public Library, it’s BeatScape: Learn to Make Popular Drum Patterns Using Step Sequencers. Head to the Heffner Studio to learn about the history of step sequencers and how they revolutionized music production on the historic TR-808 drum machine. Wednesday, August 10 at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday’s aren’t just for $6 16oz pours happy hour from 5 – 8 p.m at AOK Craft Beer + Arcade. Good Company Productions has live music there too. Check their Instagram for updates on who’s performing.

The City of Waterloo Museum and Built Heritage staff have collaborated to open the replica Abraham Erb’s Grist Mill this summer. From 10 – 3 p.m. there will be crafts, stories and a visit from historian, Peggy Plet, to share stories about the Black History connection to the early days of what became Waterloo.
Back at TWB Brewing Co-op, Onion Honey takes the patio stage for their summer music series. Friday, August 12 starting at 7 p.m.
The Witch + Wellness Night Market is back on Gaukel Street from 4 to 9 p.m. Celebrate the beginning of the harvest season with all your favourite witchy artists and a little live music!
Good Company Productions presents the album release party for Jaguar Sun - All We've Ever Known. The event will be held live at THEMUSEUM. The show will feature a set by special guests Seagram Synth Ensemble, followed by Jaguar Sun performing songs off his new album and past hits accompanied by full band.

Join Kitchener Public Library for a screening of the dark science fiction film Blade Runner which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year! Originally released in 1982, this movie’s stunning visual style continues to endure the test of time and is absolutely worth a revisit. Trivia at 1:30, movie at 2 p.m.
Stroll Walking Tours’ Black Presence in Berlin is at 10 a.m. Meet some of Berlin’s, now Kitchener’s earliest Black settlers: entrepreneurs, teachers, domestic workers, & lawyers who lived and contributed here. Plus, in August, they make an extra stop to talk about Emancipation Day celebrations that took place in 19th century Berlin!.
The Canadian Arab Women's Association is hosting the 1st Annual Middle Eastern Festival on the 13 of August 2022 at Carl Zehr Square at Kitchener City Hall. This event will showcase Arabic culture, music, and food, and bring the Arab and general community together to celebrate everything Middle Eastern. Saturday, August 13 from 12 to 8 p.m.
Eby Street Bodega hosts Garlic Festival at the bodega during the Farmers Market on Saturday, August 13 starting at 12 pm. Garlic sausage, red wine, beer, Helm Baked on site—plus, an accordion player. No music goes better with garlic than an accordion.

On August 11, spend the evening with Shore Center celebrating their 50th anniversary! Join them for a great evening to celebrate and support SHORE Centre, because the fight for reproductive rights is far from over, and they’re here for as long as it takes.
