THEMUSEUM's INTERACTION Dialogues presents "Navigating a Landscape of 'Data Shadows'" with Peter Johnson on Wednesday, March 7 from 7 to 9 pm. In a world of connected streams of real-time data, new ways of representing the world around us have emerged. Hear from University of Waterloo Associate Professor of Geography, Peter Johnson, as he discusses Francois Quevillon's Dérive, an interactive work that uses open environmental data sources to create real-time 3D representations of urban and rural areas around the globe.
Woman2018 is a celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Hosted by Terminal (119 King St. W., Kitchener) on Thursday, March 8, all members of the community are invited to celebrate with powerful speakers, local artists' exhibits and food and drinks. All proceeds are going to Waterloo Region Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Centre.
March 8 is also World Kidney Day. Head down to the Kitchener Market for Artilicious - benefiting the Kidney Foundation of Canada. From 6 pm to 9 pm and enjoy food tastings from local restaurants as well as beer and wine tastings. there will also be artisans selling their wares - all under one roof.
