The 2019 Leejay Levene Calendar Launch is this Wednesday, May 23 from 6:30-9 pm. Each year the Levene Family partners with a different institution in Kitchener-Waterloo and thousands of fundraising calendars are sold in memory of Leejay Levene. This year, the Levene Family has partnered with the Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers.

Let's talk patios.

The summer starts when Jack Burger opens. Celebrate the summer with the Jack Burger Launch Party this Tuesday, May 22 starting at 4 pm. Brando Von Dino will be in the house cranking great tunes all night.

On Wednesday, May 23, Fionn MacCool's Kitchener has their Patio Launch Party to raise awareness and support for Cystic Fibrosis. The pub will be hosting an event to launch into Patio Season while fundraising for CF. Come out to try some of their great food and beer, including Block Three Brewing's #FaceForRadioIPA which will be featured the night of the event!

Proof has their annual patio launch party on Thursday, May 24 from 5-9 pm Rain or shine we'll be enjoying live music, complimentary apps and drink samples.

The Bauer Kitchen Patio Party is this Friday, May 25 from 4-10 pm. On the patio, you'll find reps from Cave Spring Cellars, Hobbs & Co, Cowbell Brewing Co, Big Rig Brewing, Innocente Brewing Company and Block Three Brewing.

Last, but no least, celebrate the official start of the summer with the launch of TWB Brewing Co-operative's wunderbar Hydrocut Session IPA. They're having a parking lot party with The Hydrocut Comittee, Hold the Line and food from Fat Sparrow Group. Live music from Ever-Lovin' Jug Band & Jack Drysdale Pender Duo starting at 1pm. There will also be activities run by their community partners, their favourite bike stores and bike wizards.

The Ferrari 500 Art Show is back this Friday, May 25 from 7-9 pm at Catalyst137. Becoming an art collector can be a challenging proposition. The Ferrari 500 makes it just a bit easier with their $500 price cap. This means any piece you fall in love with as you're strolling through the venue is actually going to be relatively affordable.

Every year the Hohner Ave Porch Party showcases local performances and celebrates building community creatively. People from their neighbourhood and beyond come to enjoy music, art, food and beautiful Hohner Avenue in Central Frederick, Kitchener. This year's porch party is this Saturday, May 26 from 3-8 pm.

Local author Michaela Angemeer is hosting an Open Spoken Word Night at Smile Tiger on Saturday, May 26 from 7-10:30 pm. Michaela will be reading from her debut poetry collection "When He Leaves You".

The Bluenote Composer series closes out on Sunday, May 27 with the music of Freddie Hubbard at Rhapsody Barrel Bar. National Jazz Award winning trumpet iconoclast Brownman Ali and an all-star cast of Toronto's jazz finest explore the compositional works of 4 legendary composers from the seminal Blue Note Records label -- Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock & Freddie Hubbard.
