Also tonight, Monday, September 24 - it's the next KW LGBTQ+ in Technology Meetup organized by makingspace.tech. It's happening at the Vidyard office on Queen Street in downtown Kitchener.

Come downtown to meet the female candidates for local government in Waterloo Region on Tuesday, September 25 at Gilt from 7 to 9. Steel Panther - Sunset Strip Live at Maxwell's Music and Events this Tuesday, September 25. Doors open at 7:30, music at 8, you find yourself on the tour bus at 11, you wake up outside the Burrito Boyz on Central Ave in London the next morning at 7 and have to text your best friend to come get you and you make them promise never to tell anyone, but they totally put it on their Instagram story and that's when things get super awkward.

Looking to volunteer, but don’t know where? There's an event for that. This Thursday, September 27 at 5:30, community leaders pitch charities to you at Pitch In! Proceeds to go to Big Brothers Big Sisters Waterloo Region.

Grab a blanket. Maybe grab two and head to the bandshell at Waterloo Park on Thursday, September 27 at 7 PM for an outdoor screening of Get Out.

In the spirt of Hold The Line, head out of the city and celebrate the harvest with Seven Shores Community cafe at Fertile Ground Farm in St Agatha. Join them for a pig roast (don't worry, there's a vegan option too), dinner, bouncy castle, live music, square dancing, lawn games, face paint and more. Thursday, September 27 at 6 pm. Starlight Social Club has Fresh Fade Friday with the best in old school hip hop and party jams featuring DJ Flash & DJ Surreal at 10. The Jazz Room has the Elizabeth Sheppard Quartet starting at 8.

Join CycleWR on a glow ride to Uptown BIA’s Bike Lane Launch and the City of Waterloo’s Lumen Festival in Uptown Waterloo on Saturday, September 29. Meet up at 6pm at any at of these four locations to bike to Uptown Waterloo with CycleWR to travel uptown together. Glowing decorations encouraged. (The night time is the right time. - Ed.)

I pity the fool who parks on the bike lane on Saturday, September 29 at 6:30. It's the grand opening of the bike lanes in uptown Waterloo and it's honestly not that hard to tell they're bike lanes and we don't get how people still park their cars on them or walk on them. We don't even bike and we figured it out. (That was harsh, are you okay? - Ed.)

September 29 | Uptown Waterloo
Lumen is a festival that showcases light based new media, media art, and projection based installations. This free event invites citizens to explore the city through a new lens -- one that illuminates Waterloo through art and technology. Lumen will take place in uptown Waterloo on September 29, 2018 from 6 - 11p.m. More details to be announced shortly.
