What to do.
Welcome to 2019. Here's some stuff to do this week.
Descendants Beer & Beverage have another full week of events. $10 beer & burger returns on Monday, January 7. We're no longer on a break, so get ready for "Friends" Trivia at 8:00 on Tuesday, January 8. Friday, January 11 is live music from Juneyt and Buck a Shuck Oysters starting at 5:00 pm.
The craft beer scene is overwhelmingly young, white, and male. How can we make it more inclusive of everyone? Lack of representation isn't an issue only confined to the beer industry, of course, and in examining this example our discussion will spark useful thoughts for other businesses and organizations as well as rethinking "who makes & drinks craft beer?" Hear from Ren Navarro of Beer. Diversity, in the talk "Beer. Diversity. Representation & Inclusivity" this Tuesday, January 8 from 7 to 9 at The Causerie
154 Victoria Street South, Suite 2.
Baden Storytellers’ Guild presents Stories Aloud Open Mic Storytelling this Friday, January 11 from 8 to 10 at Button Factory Arts in Waterloo. Come hear some stories, or tell your own!
Getting married this year? Have you been Hacienda? It is like you're entering another world there - it logically shouldn't exist here - but this is KW where Weber and King intersect three times - who needs logic. ANYWAY - check out Hacienda Sarria's Design Your Wedding Day Open House this Saturday, January 12.
Over at your Kitchener Public Library on Saturday, January 12 from 1 to 2 is Music in the Lounge: WLU vocal students.
DJ Sylent Syd plays Jane Bond this Saturday, January 12. No cover
The Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery opens its winter exhibitions with a week of events starting this Sunday, January 13. An opening reception for new exhibitions Suburbia and Fireworks 2017 will be held on Sunday, January 13 at 2:00 pm. This event is free, all are welcome. Check their site for the full list of events.
