Common Knowledge is a new series of monthly talks for curious minds + lifelong learners. Their first talk is "Twenty-Somethings Can't Buy Houses Without Calling Their Parents" on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at J&P Grocery from 6-8.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Comedy Festival is coming to town from February 28 to March 2. It's three nights of great comedy at Centre in the Square, The Apollo Cinema, Starlight Social, the Tannery Event Centre, Patent Social and the Jazz Room.

Grand Surf Lounge is a relatively new tiki-themed cocktail bar found across the street from Charles Street Terminal. They have plenty of gluten-free and vegan options, and most of them you can eat with your hands! After finding the somewhat hidden entrance, you will escape to a cozy bar with bartenders in Hawaiian shirts, tiki heads on the shelves, a surfboard for a dining table and food/drinks on fire. The entire place holds 30 people, the music is booming, lights are dimmed, and you almost forget you’re in Kitchener. If you want to get a little pyrotechnic with your dining experience, try out the Flaming Crab Rangoon and the Volcano Bowl.
