The Kitchener-Waterloo Little Theatre has three performances of "Queer Spawn" this weekend starting Friday. It's a one person show made up of stories about growing up as a second generation queer created and performed by: Kira Meyers-Guiden.
Saturday, July 27
The Schneider Creek Porch Party is an afternoon of live music around the Schneider Creek neighbourhood in Downtown Kitchener. Head down from 3 to 7 PM.
Rock and Rumble is back in Downtown Kitchener this Saturday starting at 6 PM. There's a free concert Men Without Hats, vintage arcade games, food trucks, craft beer and live wrestling. (Wait. Men Without Hats? "The Safety Dance"?? Men Without Hats are Canadian? -Ed.)
Cycling Canada comes to Kitchener for the Kitchener Twilight Grand Prix in Victoria Park. It's a 1.3km criterium cycling race through the park - come out and cheer before heading to Rock and Rumble.
Called "Canada's greatest interpreter of Miles Davis' music", trumpet player Brownman Ali and an all-star cast will perform the entire "Kind of Blue" recording from top to bottom starting at 8 PM at TWH Social.
Sunday, July 28
Wind down the week with a walking tour of Waterloo guided by the Architectural Conservancy Ontario (ACO) North Waterloo Region branch. This tour focuses on buildings constructed in the 1920s and 1930s.
DVLB has an Intro to Cross Stitch Workshop for Beginners starting at 1 PM. You'll learn about how to prep your hoop and needle, start your first stitch, wrap up your thread and how to finish your hoop for display. Presented by YHCrossStitchDesign.
