Keep the summer going with Endless Summer at Martinis. They have set out to create a four-course pairing menu with four super playful, ingenious cocktails that showcase summertime moments, with small dishes that focus on intense flavours and exciting juxtapositions.

We know we're supposed to be eating less meat, but if you wanted to learn how to butcher a whole hog, then the "Whole Hog Butchery Workshop" at the Wooden Boat Food Co. is for you. Learn from professional butcher and author Jamie Waldron on how to break down an entire pastured pig from snout to tail. (We put A1 steak sauce on broccoli and it tastes great. Just putting that out there. -Ed.)

It's too soon - but Winter is Coming to Descendants Beer & Beverage for their Game of Thrones trivia night starting at 8 PM.

Avenue M presents "Life is Relaxation: Pop-up Backyard BBQ" with Chef D cooking some ForeQuarter Butcher meats, Descendants making some mocktails, the Kitchener Library book cart and more. 5-6:30 PM

Take your dog to a movie - they deserve it. It's the fourth annual Movie in the Park - FOR THE DOGS benefiting Taffy's Legacy Canine Rescue & Rehabilitation. There will be local vendors, popcorn, ice cream, face paint, a photo-booth, dog events, a food truck and an awesome family-friendly and dog-friendly movie to close off the night. (Turner and Hooch? -Ed.)

Comic Sans is a monthly comedy event that showcases the unique voices of queer/BIPOC/marginalized performers and is produced and hosted by Alice Rose at Patent Social in Uptown Waterloo. 8 to 10 PM. $12 in advance or at the door.

Starting today through August 24, Willibald has an eight+ course tasting menu experience at the restaurant to showcase the true bounty of the farm. The tasting menu is $65/pp with an optional drink pairing. Vegetarian options are available.

Micro-LED startup VueReal is having an open house from 5 to 7 PM. They're inviting the community for some light refreshments and snacks as well as a tour of their facility.

The inaugural First Thursday for Startups meetup at Communitech features Shiny Doc's CEO Jason Cassidy. This meetup will feature talks from two successful local startup founders, who will be sharing some valuable lessons learned from their respective journeys. (It's like the third Thursday, but we don't want to be critical here. -Ed.)

The David Johnston R+T Park is having their end of summer beer garden pop-up this Friday from 2 to 6 PM. There will be beer from Block 3 and cider from KW Craft Cider in the greenspace next to 375 Hagey Blvd (AGFA + SSimwave).

What's Soylent Green made of? Before it was all the rage with startups, soylent was made of....no, no - you have to find out for yourself at the Apollo tonight at 7 PM. It's the Apollo Feast featuring Soylent Burgers (Beyond Meat) and fries courtesy of their neighbours at Jack Burger.

It's Sun Life Financial Waterloo Busker Carnival weekend all weekend in Uptown Waterloo. It's three days of outrageous, courageous, silly busker acts.
