Ethel's Annual Charity Tray Race is on today! All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region.

It's time for August's HackerNest tech social. This month's host is Auvik Networks on Philip Street inside Factory Square. You can take the ION too - just get off at the R+T Park Station which is right next to Factory Square. (If you call this building RIM 8, then you know what's up. -Ed.)

Waterloo Public Library's Monday Evening Book Club's selection is Stephen King's "The Outsider". Come out and discuss the book from 7 to 8 PM.

Apothecare Pharmacy on Park Street has a free Naloxone and Opioid Overdose Education session from 7 to 8 PM.

YWCA KW and In Her Shoes invite you for the kickoff of their In Her Shoes Training and Entrepreneurship programs for cis, trans and non-binary women and youth experiencing barriers to employment. For over 115 years, the YWCA Kitchener-Waterloo has been a source of support for women in Kitchener-Waterloo. Their service areas include employment, supportive housing, shelter, childcare, camp and youth development programs. In Her Shoes is a YW Kitchener-Waterloo program and social enterprise.

The Princess is showing "The Room" again starting at 9 PM.

The new Avenue M development in DTK has an outdoor art gallery on Thursday, August 15 from 6 to 7 PM. They're featuring works from some of the region’s best artists, music from the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and coffee from Smile Tiger Roasters. 40 Margaret Ave - between Victoria and Queen.

Friday, August 16
12 Mile Island plays Descendants Beer and Beverage from 8 to 12 PM. Come out for a drink and to hear them play a mix of original music as well as some of their favourite covers.

Saturday, August 17
