Celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Kitchener Market this Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with live music, Descendants beer and KW Craft cidre, cake (CAKE!) and more.
It's Iron Chef with cast iron skillets. Cast Iron Chef is three teams using three different cooking methods – Schneider Haus staff, culinary historian Carolyn Blackstock and special guest Chef Nick Benninger will battle it out and attempt to prepare a delicious dish with mystery 19th century ingredients using different historical cooking methods. Noon till 3 p.m. at the Schneider Haus National Historic Site on Queen Street.
Girls Learning Code presents "Gamemaking with Scratch" for girls aged 9 - 12. They'll learn how to create an algorithm, sprites and basic coding to make their own game - plus create their own Scratch account so they can keep coding and maybe make a viral game that lets you retire early. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Auvik office in Waterloo. A guardian needs to go with them and cost is donation based.
TWH Social presents nationally touring stand up comedians Jeff Leeson and Tige Wright starting at 9 p.m.
