Monday, November 11
Today is Remembrance Day. The Waterloo Remembrance Day ceremony begins on 10:30 a.m. at the Cenotaph located on Regina Street near Waterloo City Hall. Cambridge has three ceremonies - Galt cenotaph begins with a parade from the Galt legion branch at 10:20 a.m., Preston ceremonies starts with a parade from the Preston Legion at 10:30 a.m. and Hespeler's is at their cenotaph begins at 10:30 a.m.
The November Hackernest KW Tech Social is at the new Faire office in downtown Kitchener starting at 8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 12
Descendants Beer & Beverage has Sex and the City trivia starting at 8 p.m. (Will forever be a Charlotte. -Ed.)
Centre in the Square presents "Near Normal Man", a documentary film about Ben Stern, a young man, who from 17-24 survived two ghettos, nine concentration camps and two death marches. “Near Normal Man” is the story of one young man, his life of courage, kindness and hope, who defeated Nazis 3 times in his lifetime. Now, Ben speaks out as an activist for human rights. His life and message cross many intersections; history and today, Jew and Gentile, the oldest generation to the next generation who need to know how to survive and lead to a better future for all of humanity. After the screening of “Near Normal Man”, Ben, now 98, will speak, then answer questions from the audience, with his daughter, Charlene Stern, film producer and director. This event is free to attend.
Wednesday, November 13
Your Kitchener Public Library presents Jason Thistle as part of their 85 Queen Series. Jason will be discussing his debut memoir "From the Ashes". In his memoir, Jesse Thistle, once a high school dropout and now a rising Indigenous scholar, chronicles his life on the streets and how he overcame trauma and addiction to discover the truth about who he is.

Young Sales Professionals KW has a meetup on Thursday, November 14 at Four Fathers Brewing.
Bedouin Soundclash plays Centre in the Square starting at 8 p.m.
The 6th annual Sleep Tight - PJ Party is happening at Hacienda Sarria. All proceeds go towards Restorations Second Stage Homes. Donate PJs at the door too. Your $25 ticket covers the cost of a set of PJs that can provide comfort, hope, and shelter to survivors of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.
The Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery has Feast for the Senses 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. It's an evening of tapas and drinks with a tour of the works of Adad Hannah their curator and guest chef before enjoying a meal and tasting menu from Chef Dan McCowan and Sommelier Ainsley Szvitak of Red House.

Maxwell’s Concerts & Events has the Tommy Youngsteen Fleetwood Mac tribute starting at 7:30 p.m. The band features members and alumni from Arkells, Sam Roberts Band, The Trews, Stars, Sloan and the Serena Ryder Band.
Saturday, November 16
The Lions Club Santa Claus Parade starts at 10:30 am on Frederick and Weber and heads from Kitchener to Waterloo.
Apollo has Interactive! Willy Wonka on starting at 4 p.m. There's bags of special props and other surprises. (Still the most under-appreciated line - "Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker." -Ed.)
Canada Learning Code has a workshop specially designed for teachers. Come learn the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript at the ApplyBoard office from 10 to 4 p.m.
