Every so often, I get asked what the process is to have an event listed. The answer is always the same–just send it to me and it'll be in here. There's no fee, no forms - I just want to showcase the people, organizations and events that make living here great. Listing them is one thing. Going is another. I encourage you (and myself) to check out a virtual event with voices you haven't heard before.
Your Waterloo Public Library has put together two staff-curated reading lists of amazing Black writers. Check out their list for kids and list for adults on their site. Your Kitchener Public Library has put together a list too.
Curb-side pickup of books at both libraries starts next Monday, June 15.
The African Caribbean and Black Network of Waterloo Region has a list of Black-owned businesses to check out.

Kitchener has live music for your kids at 11 am with the Kitchener Says Thanks Live Series.
The Idea Exchange and Trivial Soup have Schitt's Creek trivia on at 7:30.

The Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion Office at the University of Waterloo has an online Anti-Racism workshop starting at 1 pm.
Young Sales Professionals has their meetup at 6:30 pm. This month's topic is "Selling in Turbulent Times".
You knew about tribute bands - but did you know about tribute dance teams? THEMUSEUM and Momentum Developments bring you Beyography -the Beyoncé tribute dance class at 7 pm.

Check out The Culinary Studio's virtual cooking class BBQ & Smoking Workshop starting at 5 pm. They'll be covering topics like curing, smoking, brining, basting, wood types, grill times and temperatures and more. During the class you will cure a pork belly, smoke a brisket and grill a steak accompanied by chimichurri sauce.

Summer normally means the Summer Lights Festival. Well, you can't stop Charlène and the SLF team - they're bringing you live music every Thursday at 8:05 pm.
