Too much going on? Let TL;WR help!

Eating and drinking and working.
There's rumours around about a grocery store coming to downtown Kitchener. Yes, I'm well aware that I am the one who started the rumours about Trader Joe's - but this is for real this time. Regardless of who it is, it'll make picking up eggs and milk a lot easier. Uptown's jewel is Bob's Valu-mart, midtown has Central Fresh Market - looking forward to downtown having a grocer of its own.

New awnings are going up all along King Street in Kitchener. Rhapsody Barrel Bar, where you'll soon be able to find most of my office mates, has their signage up. They'll be sharing space with retailer Gypsy Lee. Yes. Retail in downtown!

Do you have a startup that's growing and need space? Do you like the 1980's hit "Ghostbusters" and wish you could have your office in a fire station? Well, this is the next best thing. 130 Victoria Street South is available - 5,000-6,000 sq ft. Contact Will Hunter for more details.
What's happening.

FRIENDZONE Presents: Esther Grey, I smell Blood, Whoop-szo and Beatrix | Open Sesame | Fri. March 11 | 7pm | $10

Where's the beef? In what was almost a SMS tweet storm, Jesse Ariss texted me with the news that Carl's Jr in Uptown has hung up the spatulas for good. The news was confirmed by the fine folks in the Food in Waterloo Region Facebook group. The US chain has closed a number of outlets, but doesn't seem to be pulling a Target. Is this another example of Waterloo's dislike of chains (other than Dairy Queen) or just a sign of the trend towards healthier eating?
Either way, if you really wanted a burger in Waterloo, you'd go to Sonny's or Frat Burger anyways.

Celebtrate the start of the Irish Real Life Festival with the best Irish food in town. As If! Movie Night | Thurs, Mar 10 | 6pm | $10
This is the inagural event for Plugin, a public and civic initiative hosting amazing events that promote KW and give back to the community. The entire evening will be filled with themed cocktails, phat snacks, and duh…all things Clueless! If someone doesn't shout "What's with you, kid? You think the death of Sammy Davis left an opening in the Rat Pack?" then the evening will not be complete.

Beer + Colouring | THEMUSEUM | Mar 9, 7pm
Colour my 'hood is an adult colouring book featuring neighbourhood themes throughout Waterloo, and designed by local artists. Kitchener's neighbourhood strategy will help people connect and work together to do great things in their neighbourhoods. Ticket includes one pack of pencil crayons, one Colour My 'Hood colouring book to keep and take home, one pint from Block Three Brewing, and admittance to THEMUSEUM. I'd colour Waterloo and Kitchener the same colour because they're one city.
