Eating and drinking and working.

It's a short week for almost everyone, so make the most of it by checking out some local events. Saving your energy for Friday? Here's a quick list of the local fireworks displays in Waterloo Region.

Hot dogs? Check. Cold beer? Check. Fireworks?

Waterloo - Head to Columbia Lake Fields at the University of Waterloo for the annual wicked awesome fireworks display. There will be live music on two stages, a beer garden, and fireworks around 10pm.

Cambridge - Food, drink, kid's activities and fireworks at Riverside Park. Fireworks around 9:45pm.

Kitchener - Downtown is the place to be in Kitchener for Canada Day. Live music featuring The Glorious Sons, Kiki Rowe, Modern Space, and Jocelyn Alice. Everything kicks off at 4pm - and fireworks are around 10pm

In schnitzel related news, saw a post on Food in the Waterloo Region that Two Goblets is moving from Weber St to Ontario St. The new space was the previous home of Black Arrow Cycle next to where Candy Candy Candy used to be.

I still miss Candy Candy Candy.

For midtowners - work is progressing on Arabella Park Beer Bar in Belmont Village. I've heard rumours about their patio and if true, will make it one of the best patios in Waterloo Region.

The fine folks at Boltmade are hosting DevHouse Waterloo #86 tonight at the Boltmade office (187 King St S, Waterloo). Come see what people are building. WiFi and snacks are provided.

Single and ready to bump, set, spike? Meet, Mingle, and More are taking over the beach volleyball court at Bobby O'Brien's (125 King St W, Kitchener) on Wednesday, June 29 at 7pm.

Carousel Magazine is bringing their Carousel Paper Roadshow to Open Sesame (220 King St W, Kitchener) on Thursday, June 30. The evening includes performances by Jim Johnstone, Robin Richardson, William Davison — featuring poetry readings, a comic strip slide show, short stories, and an experimental music/sound performance! Hosted by CAROUSEL editor / 4PANEL curator Mark Laliberte.
