Eating and drinking and working.

Before I headed out for the long weekend, I stopped by the grand opening of Factory Square at 451 Phillip St in Waterloo. Factory Square is 215,000 SF of renovated office space. Two tenants are already announced - PURE and Matter of Taste Coffee. That's right, two of downtown's best places are opening second locations in Waterloo.
The new Matter of Taste is situated right next to the Research and Technology Park LRT stop too - which will make your future commute all the more enjoyable. Bob Vrbanac has the details on how Factory Square came to be.
What to do.
Discovery Square takes over Carl Zehr Square (200 King St W, Kitchener) every Tuesday in July. It's a free program series focusing on science, technology, engineering, art and math - S.T.E.A.M - for kids. The activities are free and great for kids ages 5-12. There's also live music with Erick Traplin or Ultimutts each night from 6:30 - 7:15 p.m.
Toronto based The Holy Gasp play The Boathouse (57 Jubillee Dr,
Kitchener) on Thursday, July 7 at 9pm. Midtown favourites The Short Films are opening!
You'd think we would have tamed it the first two times, but it keeps coming back like Jason in "Friday the 13th". Tame The Lane III takes places this Thursday, July 7 from 5 to 9pm. Brought to you by the fine folks at Perimeter Development Corporation, Tame The Lane features food for purchase from TWH Social, craft beer from Elora Brewing Co., Block Three, Innocente and TWB Brewery along with live music and entertainment.
Have kids at home and looking for something to do on Friday? Kitchener Public Library is screening Finding Nemo on Friday, July 8 at 2:30pm. Grab yourself a book and a coffee from Hacienda Coffee.
It's summertime, and that means time to go cruising. Cruising on King returns this Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 to Downtown Kitchener. There's a classic car show and parade featuring 300 cars, live music, food trucks, and sponsor exhibits.
