With both Failte and the Firkin at the Tannery closing this week, I was reminded of a post Tony Reinhart shared a few weeks back. With our friendships becoming more and more digital and fragmented - the local pub has become more necessary than ever. Everyone in Midtown is chomping at the bit for Arabella Park to open.

Geek Week, Fluxible, and the Waterloo Innovation Summit may be over - but that doesn't mean our long month of events is over. This Tuesday is the first day of FUZEnation. FUZEnation is a technology and music summit that's bringing in the some heavy hitters from both camps. You should check out the schedule yourself because there's a lot to list. First up is turntablist A-Trak at Cork Hall on Tuesday, September 27.

As an Apple computer user since 1989, I'm especially interested in hearing Steve Wozniak speak on Wednesday, September 28.

I also may have gotten Adventure Time and Adventure Club mixed up.

The KW Professional Organizer's have set up a second showing of "Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things". This sold out in August, so now's your chance. Tuesday, September 27 at 6pm at the Princess Cinemas (on King).

Nerd Nite KW's fifth year kicks off on Wednesday, September 28. Join fellow nerds from around our community for an evening of talks, trivia, and and terrible prizes. Doors at McCabe's Cork Hall open at 7 and tickets are $5 at the door.

We're eleven days away from the tapping of the keg. The Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest team has a video to get your toes tapping as we wait - worth the watch!

The Grand Philharmonic Choir is holding an open public rehearsal of Mozart’s Mass in C Minor. Join them at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (54 Queen St N) starting at 9:30am.

The fifth annual Art, Design, and Architecture film series starts on Monday, October 3. The first film is "Design Disrupters". Design Disrupters is a documentary that dives into how fifteen companies around the globe are using design to change the way products are built and how we use them. Princess Cinemas (on King) - Monday, October 3 at 7pm.
