There must be balance in the pubs

Eating and drinking and working.

We headed Uptown on Saturday for the grand re-opening of King Street festivities. It was surreal walking down King Street after what's seemed like years. Noticed the building between Harmony and the parkade was being worked on. Asked around and it turns out the rumour is that McCabe's is opening there sometime next year. They'll join The Captain's Boil across the street as new faces to the uptown family.
What to do.
Do you ever wish there a Rocky Horror Picture Show, but for Christmas? Well, miracles do happen. The Apollo Cinema is hosting the Love Actually Quote Along this Friday, December 9 at 6:30pm. My favourite is still - "Hiya kids. Here is an important message from your Uncle Bill. Don't buy drugs. Become a pop star, and they give you them for free!"
Friday is also ppening night of the Ghibli show at the Adventurers Guild. Join them to celebrate the films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. Artists from around the world (and local!) have come together to create this spirited show. Prints will be available for purchase.
I'll be doing some gift shopping this Saturday at the annual Stitch n' Kitsch Winter Show this Saturday, December 10 from 10 to 5pm at First United Church (16 William St W, Waterloo).
