Get out to Waterloo Park and explore Create Waterloo’s Winter Art Exhibit at the Eby Farmstead in Waterloo Park. There are five pieces to check out and you can find them using this map. The exhibit is on until April.

Changing The Flow & Days for Girls Canada presents a special screening of the Academy Award-winning Netflix Documentary Short Period. End of Sentence. The eventing features a conversation with producer Melissa Berton and will be followed by a special Q & A segment with New York Times best selling author Anita Diamant. Friday, Jan. 14 at 7 pm.

Come explore the art of making it up in the Pinch Comedy | Online Improv Workshop Series. Recent NYC transplant, improviser, and director Ben Gorodetsky is offering a playful immersion into online improv in a fun and supportive environment. Over the course of 8 hours of instruction this improv workshop series will cover play, listening, scene work, characterization, and storytelling approaches. All skill levels welcome. Starts Jan. 24.

Got a grade 4, 5, or 6 student in your house? Waterloo Region students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 are asked to share what home means to them in a national writing contest that is now open and accepting entries. Three grand prize winners will each receive a $30,000 grant to help a local Habitat for Humanity build a place to call home for a family in need of affordable housing.
Every student who enters the Meaning of Home contest earns a $10 donation towards their local Habitat for Humanity. In addition to the grand prize winners, nine runners up will receive a $10,000 grant for their local Habitat build.
Submissions are being accepted by mail or online at meaningofhome.ca until February 18, 2022. Winners will be announced by June.
