In this month’s KPL astronomy talk, Marie-Joëlle Gingras will explore how supermassive black holes influence their surroundings through a process known as Active Galactic Nucleus feedback, regulating star formation and transforming galaxies over billions of years.
Join Tri-City Roller Derby for an information session and meet and greet at AOK Craft Beer & Arcade on Wednesday, March 26 from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Meet members of Tri City Roller Derby, ask questions, watch footage, and hang out with your future teammates. The event is drop-in style, so feel free to come and go as you please. Researchers at the University of Waterloo are at the forefront of quantum innovation, pushing the boundaries of discovery and positioning Waterloo as a global leader in quantum research. Join them to celebrate the Year of Quantum at Science in the City to hear from leading experts who share what’s next in quantum science! The event is free. MT Space is presenting the world premiere of CONVERSATIONS: Hidden Stories on World Theatre Day at The Registry Theatre. Created by Vanguardia Dance Projects in collaboration with Aanmitaagzi, CONVERSATIONS: Hidden Stories is a dance theatre work with women from diverse territories of the Americas, within the context of erased traces of Indigeneity from history, mestizo peoples and connects voices of women.

Detweiler Meetinghouse (3445 Roseville Rd, Ayr) presents Ken Whiteley live at 7 pm. Ken is one of the founders of the Original Sloth Band. He went on to a very distinguished career in blues, gospel, folk, jazz, jugband, and far more.

Witness bold pitches, connect with founders, and experience innovation in action as they compete for the $25K grand prize at the Velocity Pitch Competition: All-Stars! The Velocity Pitch Competition (VPC) provides equity-free funding to early-stage startups to help remove some of the barriers that hinder innovation and entrepreneurial growth. This year, the competition features a first-place award of $25,000, bringing together exceptional current and past Waterloo founders to compete head-to-head.

Since 2022, The Essentials Fund has raised over $130,000 for 29 local community organizations throughout Waterloo Region. The fund supports these organizations’ efforts to provide essential items like toiletries, transportation, seasonal clothing, menstrual products, and baby supplies.
