Tuesday, April 4
Thomas Morgan Jones, playwright and director, will be at Kitchener Public Library to talk about the themes in the Stratford Festival’s upcoming production of A Wrinkle in Time. Tuesday, Apr. 4 at 7 p.m.
Great journalism has never been more important—that’s the theme behind the inaugural Journalism Film Festival in Waterloo Region. The festival’s second screening is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016), a film based on journalist Kim Barker’s memoir The Taliban Shuffle about her time covering the war in Afghanistan. Tuesday, Apr. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Apollo.

Got a one to two year old at home? Kitchener Public Library’s Wiggles and Giggles at the Grand River Stanley Park Library is a perfect excuse to get out of the house and tire them out! Wednesday, Apr. 5 from 9:30 to 10 a.m.
Over at TWB Brewing Co-Op, check out Disney+ Trivia Night with Seen on Screen Podcast. Tickets are $10/person and include a 12 oz beer plus unlimited (ish) popcorn courtesy of the Apollo Cinema!
Come out to Maxwell’s Concerts and Events for the Browns Social House Battle of the Bands. It’s a fun night combining live local music, friendly competition, and community involvement. The event is a fundraiser for the Youth Creativity Fund, a project dedicated to helping young people flourish creatively.
BeccaHosts has Trivial Dispute at Abe Erb Kitchener starting at 7:30 p.m.
Are you a teen or do you know a teen that wants explore writing poetry, but doesn’t know where to start? Come and celebrate National Poetry Month with this low-pressure poetry writing workshop for teens (12-18) at Waterloo Public Library’s John M. Harper Branch.

How about an aca-awesome evening of music at the University of Waterloo’s A Cappella Winter Concert. This year’s concert feature ACE, The AcaBellas, The Musical InterDudes, The Unaccompanied Minors, The Water Boys, In Full Colour and other groups performing stunning sets with only the sounds of their voices. The lovely folks from Gold Leaf Botanicals will be at KPL’s Grand River Stanley Park Library for a Houseplant Clinic from 10 to 11:30 a.m. hey can help diagnose and troubleshoot ailments your houseplant companions may be experiencing and will be providing general tips and tricks to keep you and your plants happy and healthy - so you can spend more time enjoying your plants and less time fretting about them.

The Apollo has a screening of The Quiet Girl at 4:30 p.m. In addition to winning seven awards at the 18th Irish Film & Television Awards, “The Quiet Girl” broke box office records for the opening weekend of an Irish-language film and became the highest-grossing Irish-language film of all time.

The Community Fundraising Event for Youth Creativity Fund is an opportunity to learn more about the technology industry and how it connects to your community. The fundraiser, in partnership with Conestoga College Public Relations students, is raising money for the Business and Education Partnership in the Waterloo Region, a not-for-profit organization a mission to inspire youth in grades 5-12 to share their creative ideas for future projects, and connect them with funding to make their dreams come true. Tuesday, Apr. 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Catalyst Commons.
