The City of Kitchener is hosting Screen Time: Art Exhibition by Laura Heaney in the Rotunda Gallery. Inspired by chiaroscuro paintings prevalent in the Dutch Republic during the mid-17th century, Laura presents a modern take: drawings depicting subjects lit only by a device such as a cell phone. Her time-consuming and detailed technique of large scale drawing with pencil crayons, stands in direct contrast to the quick pace associated with the depicted technology.

Yoga in the Gardens at rare launches its 2024 season on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Meet in the Springbank Farm’s parking lot at 681 Blair Road. Be sure to bring your own yoga mat and dress for the weather. Free with a donation of food to the Cambridge Food Bank.

Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer Rob Thomson is coming to THEMUSEUM in Downtown Kitchener as the next guest in its An Evening With series. Rob has been the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies since 2018 and will be sharing his story with Sportnet’s Jamie Campbell.

Waterloo Regional Police need volunteers for this year’s Special Olympics Spring Games running May 23-26. Over 2,500 athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers and spectators are expected for this year’s games and they’re looking for volunteers aged 16 and older. Learn more here.
