Women in Song is a free Noon Hour concert at Conrad Grebel University College Chapel featuring music composed and performed by women, focusing primarily on the romantic era, but verging into contemporary and living composers. Soprano Rebecca McKay and pianist Jodie van der Heide will present pieces by Alma Mahler and other composers. 12:30 p.m.
The Latin American Film Festival presents Mute Fire, a personal film essay, Federico Atehortúa Arteaga examines the relationship between film footage, the events of the war in Colombia, his family’s story, and the origins of cinema in the country. KPL Central Branch at 6 p.m.
Over at Waterloo Public Library, join Dr. Ginette Lafrenière and her team from the Social Innovation Research Group (SIRG) from the Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University for Laurier EdTalks: Is it Hot in Here?, a creative presentation on the findings of the experiences of menopause for women and female identified individuals.

Matt Disero, Ken Margoe, and Ken Pham will make you laugh and cheer as they keep you in awe wondering how it was all done! $10 of every ticket sold goes to the Movember campaign supporting research on men's health issues, including prostate and testicular cancers.

Calling all Kaftans! Bring your baubles and bling! The first KW Mrs. Roper Romp Pub Crawl starts at Uptown Waterloo Square, Nov. 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants come dressed as Mrs. Roper from the 1970’s/80’s sitcom Three's Company. Registration is from 1 – 2 p.m. inside Waterloo Public Square. All proceeds go to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
FoxNet is hosting its annual fundraiser for KidsAbility at the Lancaster Smokehouse starting on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. Since 2004, the awesome people at FoxNet have helped to raise over $200,000 in support of the local organizations and initiatives, including KidsAbility. Admission gets you one food ticket and two drink tickets.
