Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery has an artist talk with Nestor Krüger at 7 pm.Clock Clock, featured in SOS Part III, is the latest iteration of Krüger’s clocks that explore our relationship to time. Time is often understood as moving in only one direction however, Clock Clock offers something different, with the path of time more like a circle than a straight line.
MT Space and the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region are thrilled to announce our 2025 virtual production of Chelsea's Story. Chelsea will return to screens beginning Feb 20, 2025 and finishing up on Feb 22, 2025. Based on actual events, Chelsea's Story centres on a group of three students who discover the diary of a 15-year-old girl named Chelsea, who is groomed and trafficked for sex.

Join researcher and Black history writer Peggy Plet at Waterloo Libary as she presents 'Discovering Waterloo Region’s Untold Stories: Celebrating Black History.' Recognizing the presence and contributions of Black residents in our community's history is crucial for historical accuracy and fostering a sense of belonging and pride among current Black residents. 2 pm at the Eastside Branch.
Rhythm & Blues Cambridge and Idea Exchange are hosting a Black History Month Celebration at Hespler branch from 11 to 4 pm. Enjoy a special author reading for kids with Antonio Michael Downing, followed by fun creative activities.

Waterloo Public Library has a Black History Month Art Workshop at 3:30 at the main branch for kids 8 to 13. In this session, you’ll explore Alma Thomas's iconic artwork Resurrection (1966), which made history as the first piece by a Black woman to be displayed in the public spaces of the White House and to join its permanent collection in 2015. Participants will have the chance to create their own Resurrection-inspired painting—no prior painting experience needed.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery is excited to announce that submissions are open for Expressions 50: Foresight. Expressions showcases artwork from student artists in Waterloo Region, highlighting their unique perspectives of the world around us and experiences within it. This year, we invite artists to explore their community through an intergenerational lens, sharing their dreams for the future while also reflecting on the past. Learn more on the gallery website.
Nominations are open for the annual KW Oktoberfest Women of the Year awards. There are 12 award categories ranging from community service to STEM and youth to lifetime achievement. 2025 also marks the 50th anniversary of the awards and to commemorate this, two new categories have been added: Educator and Rising Star. The Oktoberfest Women of the Year awards are inclusive of all women and women-identifying persons. Nominees must volunteer, study, work or live in the region and nominations are due March 31.
