Join Laurier Associate Dean, Associate Professor and Author Dr. Gus Hill in celebration of his recent publishing of Indigenous Healing: Voices of Elders and Healers. Gus will share about his journey compiling the knowledge to write this book in a Q&A format event with Melissa Ireland, Laurier's Director, Indigenous Initiatives. Current Bachelor of Social Work student Sieara Miller, will be joining Gus and Melissa to offer a reading and share her personal reflection. Tuesday, June 1 at 12 p.m.

She’ll sharesinsight into her direction for the Stratford Festival’s 2021 production of I Am William. The musical tells the imagined story of Margaret Shakespeare, a young writer of great skill and imagination who, with the help of her brother William, navigates a dangerous time to become one of the world’s greatest writers.

Kitchener Public Library has ImagineIt: World Building a Creative Workshop with Jael Richardson at 7 p.m. Richardson unpacks the strategy she used to build the dystopian world in her best-selling novel Gutter Child. From concept to final product, writers will learn how to build wild and imaginative, or close-to-real-life, settings that explore systems of power with practical, step-by-step guidance.
THEMUSEUM presents Proud to Be: Be True To You, a dialogue with Jessica Platt. Platt is a trans woman and will be talking about the importance of being true to yourself.
