In what seems like a well timed event, Conestoga College has its Around the World in 80 Bites culinary competition at 6 p.m. Around the World in 80 Bites is the final capstone event for Conestoga’s culinary and baking students. It is essentially their final exam that they get graded on. You can sample from over 150 small bites of food from upcoming culinary masters.
Platinum-selling artist and Juno award winner Serena Ryder makes a tour stop at Centre in the Square for her new album, The Art of Falling Apart. Thursday, Apr. 20 at 8 p.m.

Culture Fancier and Minds Eye Studio Art Gallery and Yoga Studio have an artist’s reception for "Me, trying: Having the courage to change" The Dead Ant. This is an exhibition of paper and resin collage by The Dead Ant, an emerging artist based in Waterloo. The artist uses cut-up paper to symbolize the fragmented pieces of their being. The precise and meticulous assembly of these fragments reflects the artist's journey towards growth and transformation. Friday, Apr. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
It's back! After a three-year pandemic hiatus, CFUW K-W, formerly known as the
Canadian Federation of University Women K-W, is hosting its 56th giant used book sale on Friday, Apr. 21 and Saturday, Apr. 22 at First United Church at the corner of King and William Streets in Waterloo. The sale funds more than $50,000 in scholarships each year for high school students in Kitchener-Waterloo and mature students studying at the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Conestoga College.
