Join Grand River Opera for Hansel & Gretel, the classic opera by Engelbert Humperdinck, based on the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale. Sung in a contemporary English translation by Kathleen Kelly, accompanied by Charmaine Fopoussi on piano, and featuring local singing talent from Waterloo Region as soloists and children’s chorus. The production addresses issues currently affecting our community: poverty, food insecurity, and environmental issues (litter, recycling, waste management). This production is recommended for ages 12 and up.
