The UW Department of Music presents Noon Hour Concert: Stop the Clock. "Stop the Clock” is a concert which brings the audience on a walk through nature in the Riviera May, Mexico with pianist Becky Reesor.

KPL Country Hills has Telescope Time from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Dr. Michel Fich from the University of Waterloo will present on some of the objects in the sky this evening, and how to find them. Dr. Fich is an astronomer specializing in studies of star formation, the interstellar medium, and the structure of galaxies.

Our friend Marko at Probably Worth Sharing is throwing an awesome fundraiser for Food4Kids Waterloo Region on Sunday, Oct. 1. Probably Worth Sharing and several local small-business sponsors are hosting a 24-hour Bake-A-Thon and fundraising event, where Waterloo Region residents are invited to come together as a community, play games, enjoy food, and donate (money or non-perishables) to end chronic hunger.

Celebrate First Nation Public Library Week with free programming during at Kitchener Public Library from Oct. 2 - 6. Starting off the week is Elder's Panel: "Remembering Community Lifestyles: Partnerships and Alliances" at 10 a.m. This informal session brings together three First Nation people to recollect ways Indigenous communities have collaborated to ensure cultures and traditions continue to thrive.
The Princess has the 4K restoration of The Talking Heads’ classic concert movie “Stop Making Sense” directed by Jonathan Demme and filmed over three nights at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December 1983. Showings at 6:45 and 9:15 p.m.

Waterloo Region Community Foundation has worked with local experts and consultants to research and create Waterloo Region's 2023 Vital Signs® Report focused on Affordable Housing. Please join them on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 p.m. for a webinar where they will present the report, key findings and discuss opportunities for its use in our community. All attendees will receive a link to the full report after the session.
