Waterloo Region Community Legal Services is hosting its Poverty Reduction Fall Forum at Kitchener Public Library from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. Space is limited.
SPECTRUM and Queer Night Out Waterloo Region present a Rainbow Film Club screening of A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge at 7 p.m.
Calling all Makers! Artshine has free art workshops at Studio 44 inside the Gaukel building every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. Get a glimpse of Artshine's exciting programs and products and make your own artistic creations. Donations appreciated.
Two national award-winning dancers perform, play and create live-in-person at the Buzzie Indie Series. Lucy and Tara will perform two stunning works before they open up the floor to audience suggestions for creation-on-the-spot. The audience is invited to come armed with a phrase, image, thought to stimulate and/or stump their Dueling Divas. Tuesday, Oct. 17 at the Registry Theatre.

Artshine at 44 Gaukel has a free Parent & Tot Art session from 11 to noon. Read a story or learn a mini-lesson, and then create a new piece of art with your little one each week. Free, donation appreciated.
Conrad Grebel University College has free Noon Hour Concerts every Wednesday at, well, noon. This week, it’s Just Friends — timpanist Michael Wood and jazz guitarist Ralf Buschmeyer will present pieces by Duke Ellington, Rob McConnell, Pat Metheny, Thelonious Monk and Dave Young.
TWB Brewing Co-Op and Seen on Screen Podcast have a Harry Potter Trivia Night at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the tickets sales will be donated to their October Community Partner, The Kitchener Public Library.

Kitchener Public Library and the University of Waterloo Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies presents Latin American Film Festival | Un Traductor at 6:30 p.m. Based on the little-known true story of how twenty thousand Chernobyl victims were eventually treated in Cuba, Un Traductor unfolds as a tale at once historical and personal, brought to life in crisply shot, beautifully realized period detail of a Havana on the brink of economic crisis.

Join them on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 1:00 p.m. for a webinar where they will present the report, key findings, and discuss opportunities for its use in our community.

The Flamboro Speedway has its Halloween Enduro 250 starting at 4 p.m. Plus, there’s a demolition derby!
Spend Saturday learning the art of photography with a hands-on workshop with photographer Rob Skeoch at the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery. Rob will discuss how to create a compelling composition, work with existing light, and work with people before heading downtown Kitchener to take some fabulous photographs. Bring a smartphone or digital camera and good walking shoes.
Kitchener Public Library Stanley Park Branch has a free screening of Sing 2 at 2 p.m.

The Kissing Bridge Art Tour is a self-guided, free tour that features artists in venues and studios throughout Woolwich Township. Tours are available on Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22 from 10 to 5 p.m. There’s a kick-off party at the Three Sisters Cultural Centre in St. Jacobs on Friday night, too.

Run Waterloo’s Fall 5 KM Classic is known for as a fun and fast fall event. This race has it all: a pancake-flat, certified, paved 5k course through a great park, great food, finisher medals, and much more. It’s a race for families, first-time runners and walkers, and elites alike. Sunday, Oct. 22 at 8 a.m.
Midtown Radio is recording three original radio dramas live onstage at the Apollo Cinema. The project is made possible with a grant from the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, and features local writers, director, producers, and actors. Sunday, Oct. 22 at 1:30 p.m.

Kitchener Public Library Central Branch has Babytime at 9:30 a.m. This program is designed to support child development, explore early literacy concepts and foster connections between babies and their caregivers.
The Laurier Wellbeing in Film Forum (LWIFF) is back to the Princess Twin for another season of free films and engaging discussions! On Oct. 23, they will be watching Michael Haneke's Caché (Hidden), a captivating thriller about the importance of recognizing and repairing harm, as told through the legacy of the French colonization of Algeria and the Algerian War. Monday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
