The Apollo has a 10th Anniversary Screening of Whiplash at 7 pm.
Shayna Jones x TELL! present an Open Mic & Potluck at First United Church in Waterloo. TELL! is MT Space's coffeehouse open-mic style event offering the community an artistic platform to share their works in a casual setting. These sharings can be performances, stories, lectures, poetry, drag, fine art displays -- any type of creation.
Emmanuel Concerts presents The Once live at 7 pm.

Direct from LA, it’s Dirty Honey with special guests The Band Feel at Maxwells. Doors open 7 pm.
The Canadian Clay & Glass Museum is hosting Alliance for a Grand Community’s Re-Imagining Community Health: A Conversation with Max Wyman at 12 pm. This digital talk will be moderated by artist, curator, PhD researcher and founder of Vintage Black Canada, Aaron T. Francis.
Green Drinks - Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge is happening at Arabella Park from 7 to 8 pm. It’s a fun and eco-friendly evening where environmentally conscious folks can come together to chat, network, and enjoy some refreshing drinks.
This month’s KPL astronomy talk is Analyzing the Universe with Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Marco Bonici will discuss how AI is helping cosmologists to understand the data collected from telescopes, and answer the fundamental questions about the cosmos. 7 pm.

St. Jerome's University has its Lectures in Catholic Experience with Galen Watts, Assistant Professor in the Sociology and Legal Studies department at the University of Waterloo, at 7:30 pm.

The 2024 Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival arrives in Waterloo at the Princess Original with a never before seen program of films!
The MT Space presents Black & Rural at the Registry Theatre from September 26 to 29. Black & Rural is the story of a lone Black country woman struggling to defy the monolith of what matters to Black lives. Derived from dozens of real-life interviews with Black folk tucked away on the countryside across Canada, Shayna Jones weaves together a story of vulnerability, quiet triumph, and striking humanity. The show features Shayna's unique storytelling voice, interspersed with new folkloric tales and verbatim reflections from her interviewees.

Rusty Nail Comedy has headliner Cedric Newman at the Walper Hotel starting at 7:30 pm. Over at Den 1880 in Waterloo, you can catch headliner Ryan Belleville, also kicking off at 7:30 pm.
Benjamin Tree Farm is hosting an Outdoor Family Movie Night in support of Food4Kids Waterloo Region. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to the farm for a screening of Inside Out 2. The farm opens for play at 6 pm with the movie starting at dusk (around 7:30 pm). Free to attend with a monetary and/or food donation in support of Food4Kids Waterloo Region.
Choir! Choir! Choir! is a fully interactive, participatory show at Centre in the Square that turns audience into performer! So get ready to laugh, dance and SING! your hearts out with hundreds of other music-lovers just like you. 8 pm.
Waterloo Public Library is hosting Black Talk, a conversation with Hanif Abdurraqib & Antonio Michael Downing over at the CIGI Campus. The Kitchener Catwalk invites cat lovers for a 2km walk to say hi to cats. Yes, this is a real event and I really want to go on it even though I’m allergic to cats.
Fall doesn’t start till you’ve been to the Wellesley Apple Butter & Cheese Festival. Start your day with a pancake and sausage breakfast and explore a craft market, food vendors, kids’ games, and more. You can even take a tour of a modern dairy farm to see where the region’s best milk and cheese products get their start.
Just in time for Oktoberfest, Drinking in Berlin's History - a walking tour in Downtown Kitchener is an appropriately themed walking tour all about drinking & breweries from another era! Have a kid aged 12-16? KPL has a mini Dungeons and Dragons campaign, Treasures of the Broken Hoard, at 6:30 pm. Players of any experience are welcome, but this program is meant as an introduction to Dungeons and Dragons. Sharing this newsletter adds 50 hp to your character.
