The Perimeter Institute’s Public Lecture webcast presents cosmologist Will Percival who will aim to help us grasp the enormity of space using the latest results from eBOSS – the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey – which created the largest three-dimensional map of the universe ever made using the positions of millions of galaxies and quasars dating back roughly 11 billion years. He’ll be sharing the profound insights they provide into the physics of our universe. Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m.

How can academic and technology sectors support the next generation of leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math? Wilfrid Laurier University and Vidyard present a moderated panel discussion that engages executive leaders within tech, academia and researchers from the Waterloo Region community about their role in building pathways for equity and inclusion in STEM education programs and careers. Thursday, April 8 at 12 p.m.
Kitchener Public Library has a double book launch event with debut adult novelist Laurie Elizabeth Flynn, and bestselling author, Marissa Stapley on Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
Friday, April 9
The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony is thrilled to share the stage with one of Canada’s top folk rock groups, Whitehorse, for a special concert as part of the 2020/21 Reimagined: KWS Goes Online season, streaming Friday, April 9 to Sunday, April 11. Leading the orchestra is former KWS Assistant Conductor and Music Director of the Kingston Symphony Evan Mitchell. This online concert features arrangements of some of Whitehorse’s greatest hits from across a number of their albums, including the Juno-winning “Leave No Bridge Unburned”, all backed by the KWS.
Swine & Vine has an online cooking and cocktail class on Friday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m.
