The Queer Art Histories Workshop talk asks what does it mean to consider art history from a queer perspective? During this virtual session, they will explore the work of key figures who have helped redefine the field. Spanning from the renaissance to contemporary culture, the workshop will illustrate some of the strategies queer artists and activists have used to deconstruct the idea of a “normal life.” As a group, we will consider how they offer new understandings of identity, community, and resistance.
