Tuesday, March 23
Idea Exchange presents Our Inner Sparks: Women in Leadership. In this panel discussion, they’ll be talking to a group of women who are leaders in their industries to discuss what progress and challenges they see in the leadership positions and industries. Tuesday at 12 p.m.
The Culinary Studio has a few spots open for their virtual Our Favourite Thai cooking class at 5 p.m. You’ll learn how to make Thai Coconut Chicken and Vegetable Curry, Green Mango & Peanut Salad, and Jasmine Rice.
D2L has two events today, both at 5pm. You can join members of D2L’s Learning and Creative Services team to understand what they do to transform the way the world learns. Speak to and learn from different roles on the team, and get first-hand interaction with Instructional Designers and Courseware Developers on what they do day-to-day. The Kitchener State of the City address happens at 8:45 a.m. This year, the event celebrates the people, partners and everyday heroes who've pulled us together as a community during the pandemic.
The uxWaterloo Meetup’s session on Thursday is Designing Digital Products for Africa with Peace Ojemeh (Perrie), a product designer living in Nigeria. She is currently consulting with the African Union, the International Telecommunication Union, and UN Women to bring more women into technology. Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Productions has Live@44 featuring JUNO-nominated drummer Sarah Thawer on stage alongside her band for a high energy one hour jazz fusion performance, framed by psychedelic visuals and artwork by local designer @bynikolina. All revenue will be split between the performing artists, visual artist, and their production crew.

Why 26,000 steps? 1 in 5 children/youth have a treatable mental health condition and with 130,000 children and youth living in Waterloo Region, that means about 26,000 need help. AND the pandemic has increased those numbers! Join them from your local neighbourhoods, parks, or trails to show your support and raise funds and awareness for children's mental health. Funds raised through this event will directly support programming at Lutherwood's Children Mental Health Centre and Safe Haven Youth Services.
