The Perimeter Institute has a live stream with Karen Hallberg discussing examples of emergent phenomena (such as when atoms are combined to form a solid, new physical phenomena arise which cannot be predicted based on the properties of the individual components) and demonstrate how we can tackle these problems using quantum information to filter the most relevant data. Live stream starts at 7pm.

The St. Jacob’s Market District Holiday Art Market kicks off December 3 and runs through December 20. Find unique creations from local artists and see the wonderful displays in the Festive of Trees.
Artshine and the City of Kitchener host the Young@rt youth art exhibit premiering at 7pm on December 3 via Artshine’s YouTube Channel. Young@rt is a celebration of talented young artists in Kitchener that showcases their work in visual arts. Some of these featured artists, from around Waterloo Region, have been exposed to art programming through Arts4All, a non-profit arm of Artshine.
Waterloo Public Library has a virtual Wine and Cheese Night In: Charcuterie Board Making at 7pm.

UpTown Waterloo’s Hop ‘N Shop starts today and runs through Sunday, December 6. Check out their site for participating businesses and specials all weekend long.
Chef Miguel showcases the cuisine of Spain at The Kitchener Market’s Underground Multicultural Series with Underground Flavour Group at 7pm.

McDougall Cottage has tea time by the Grand River on Saturday. There’s two seatings and they’re selling out fast.

Head to Ayr to see 45 different Christmas trees on display for Ayr’s Christmas Tree Display at Centennial Park. (We assume the trees are six feet apart. -Ed.)

‘Shop’ the Gifts of Hope Online Gift Catalogue, now with a wider variety of items for giving and, new this year, the option to make your gift in honour of someone special! When you give via the online gift catalogue, your generous gift will be converted to a gift card by the Foundation and distributed to families and youth. If your company usually does staff giving or a ‘giving tree’ consider printing out items from the catalogue to hang on the tree and each choosing one to ‘purchase’.
