SDG Talks: Quality Education explores how we can promote inclusive, equitable education and lifelong learning opportunities for all while highlighting the vital role education plays in empowering individuals and fostering sustainable development. This year’s theme, Community of Difference Makers, spotlights dedicated individuals and organizations advancing environmental stewardship, community building, and social entrepreneurship. 5 to 8 pm at the SDG Idea Factory in Downtown Kitchener.

The UW Music Department’s Noon Hour Concert is Low Pair at 12:00 noon in the Conrad Grebel Chapel. Free Admission. Cathy Anderson (cello) and Ian Whitman (double bass) will perform pieces specifically composed for this combination of instruments.
NUMUS Concerts presents Cells of Wind, a new chamber opera exploring administrative segregation (solitary confinement), the impacts, struggle and debate over its use. 7 pm at The Registry Theatre.
The WCA Astronomy Series at Kitchener Public Library’s central branch presents The Hunt for Planets and Life Beyond Earth at 7 pm. Dr. Michael Balogh, a faculty member in the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics, will discuss how scientists find and study these distant worlds, and how upcoming technology will help us search for life beyond our solar system.

The 27th annual edition of the Child Witness Centre’s Pancake Lunch will take place on March 4, 2025. It’s an opportunity to come together on Shrove Tuesday in support of local young survivors and their families. The Child Witness Centre is on a mission to wipe out its waitlist, so every local child and youth can receive the immediate support they deserve.
