It’s Winterloo time! The City of Waterloo’s arts and culture team, Create Waterloo, are bringing you winter-themed activities in Uptown Waterloo. Explore uptown from 12 to 5 p.m. to meet the snow dogs, watch talented ice carvers and snow sculpters, winter activities and much more!
The Uptown Waterloo Comfort Food Crawl is happening at Bodega Rose, Kentucky Bourbon BBQ, and Revive Game Bar from 12 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 to sample at all three locations and all proceeds go to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

The next free community film event of the Laurier Wellbeing in Film Forum (LWIFF) is coming up at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the Princess Original with a screening of The Cobalt Challenge. It’s a documentary about the impacts of cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on local communities. Cobalt is an important component of electric vehicle batteries, and after the movie, they'll discuss how the "green transition" can avoid the mistakes of the past.
